Strange Behavior Copy & Paste From Word

When I copy & paste a text line from Word into XDP (using the Text Tool) and chose "Rich Text Format," two embedded groups are being pasted into the Xara document. One has a large text area, the other a rectangle with a text line. When I chose the "Enhanced Metafile" option, only the text is being pasted into the document but still as an embedded group and not allowing the whole text line to be selected.

When I do this operation using the Selector Tool, the same objects are being pasted in the document but now it only shows "Text Area" in the P&L Gallery. I cannot select either the rectangle or the text line, only individual letters. When chosing the "Enhanced Metafile" option, only the text is being pasted but still as a group of two text lines. The text seems strangely compressed.

Same problem here, albeit when copying and pasting from WPS Office, which worked just fine before.

Yes, there's a bug here. It also pastes the Word page background which can't be selected or deleted

Any news whether this has been fixed? I've reverted to a pre-March version of Xara Pro (again...) and don't know. Not keen to update until this is sorted (I wasted a lot of time last week doing just that!).

If anyone can tell me, would be much appreciated (I lodged a ticket a few days ago, but no response yet).

not yet fixed as far as I can tell...

the page background comes in locked in p&l gallery - it can be deleted if unlocked, at least it did for me...
