For me, opening a file that is over 73 MBs in size takes 2 minutes and 45 seconds. However, I kind of expect that with such a large file. What I don't expect is that the program itself should take a full minute to open with no file preloading, just a blank template.

xar(105Mb - a lot of graphics in vector format and in raster) - 10sec from dubl-click on file to full open Xara. Last time I opened this file about a year ago and he was not in the cache and opened from HDD. But Xara Designer is installed on SSD.

First start = 15 sec., second start in 5 sec. Opening a xar.file at first start with 114,3 MB in 18 sec. and 8 sec. after first Xara start. The file is on a HDD.

Show you PC`s specs. Maybe you just have a really slow PC. But on my second PC(very old and slow) i have not seen such problems with the launch of Xara.

I'm thinking of taking my computer into Best Buy and having them run a system analysis on it. I've run Malwarebytes, Windows Defender from C:/ prompt and they don't show any infection, but I'm not convinced.

Ron, having 4GB memory on a 64-bit system is way too low.
Aim for 16GB.

An update, as I didn't have access to my machine when I posted.
Startup time with no document open – pretty much instantly. Things only slow down drastically and too
much for my taste, as soon as several simple documents are open.
