I wonder what charles and crew think of this? I this another marketing ploy by Adobe. Or an honest attempt at a standard, that could be adapted. Making the spec public knowledge is good either way. Providing a free reader/translator could be a good marketing ploy.
From xara's prespective. Here is an open door into easy translation from .xar to Adobe inards. The color black has been fixed, but what color is "baby Blue"?

John, I'm not sure Xara X is the place to enhance RAW files before export... Heck, the Photoshop plug-in compatibility, and the features of XPE are sub-par at best... I wouldn't hold my breath on advanced image correction.
