My version does the same. Grab the horizontal scrollbar at the bottom of the editor, just above the color bar, and slide the page to the center by moving the slider to the left. Will center it on the stage (? Not sure what it's called in Xara).

It will not fix the footer. It keeps growing as you slide the bar.

If you click on the footer, you will see that, under Size the width is set to 6908.5px - change this to 960px. reposition the footer and all should be fine.
