Is a form the only way to do it?
It really depends what you mean by 'sign up'.
If it's just an email that's required, a simple link does it.
If it's basic details but no money changes hands, a form is the way to go.
If money has to be paid then you are selling a product so you need e-commerce.
We use Mach Forms on our sites. We collect all the information we need, then they can pay... it even supports recurring payments. You can see one of our forms here:
