What is the MP4 format that WD11 accepts?
I have tried to export several resolution versions of MP4 from Power Director but all of them result in Invalid MP4 format error when dropping onto a web page.

The Mp$ format is I believe the H624 mts format (i think that is what it is called) but some embeding for that isn't accepted unless you have the codec installed.

Jim,
How do I install the codec?
I installed the codec and re-produced the video in MP4 but still get the file format error as attached
first off, you're talking about cyberlink power director, right? (it seems lately that i misunderstand the op and sludge up the thread.) and i'm guessing you can play it ok after producing it.
i produced a small test mp4 two different ways using power director and both imported fine into a web doc. i left everything at default. did you change any settings? did you try to produce another mp4 that is really basic, just a couple seconds long to see if there is any difference? did you eat all your veggies today????
ionno...it's all i can think of. the little i've used power director was just a couple weeks ago helping my wife with her project and it produced mp4s without changing any of the settings and i dragged them, along with my little test one, onto a xara web template without errors
Yes, I had my veggies in juice form.
I have been requesting support also from Cyberlink but they say they do not support issues with other software and Xara are saying MP4 format is ok. I am stuck between the 2 software packages, it seems like "no-man's land" here where neither
vendor can offer a solution.
Attached is my screen shot for the video production. I have tried several of the resolution options but none accepted by Xara. Surely it should be as straight forward as producing and MP4 format video and dragging into Xara?
BTW, I tried PAL and NTSC formats also
sorry man. i have an older version of power director than what you're using. my screenshot shows i have an actual mpeg-4 tab whereas yours doesn't. and i don't have the "xavc s" tab like you to try this....
another 'did you' here....try the "xavc s" tab cos that format uses the mp4 wrapper. i'm coming up short in my search to see if the file extension is .mp4
i can't help you with options that might be available under that tab but i'd start with the default first.
can you zip a sample up even if it's only one image for a couple seconds that we can play with?
I fixed the issue.
1. Dumped Power Director
2. Purchased "Magix Edit Pro"
3. Produced MP4 video
4. Loads fine in Xara
It loads into Xara - fine
But how does it work in different browsers?
I have some mp4 files converted from various formats to mp4 with WinX VideoConverter.
They are not accepted if I drop them into Xara.
But I add some html replacement to a rectangle:
I also tried with fixed width/height.Code:<video width="100%" height="100%" controls> <source src="index_htm_files/EksosC2.mp4" type="video/mp4"> Your browser does not support the video tag. </video>
This does not work in the internal preview in Xara, using IE or Chrome. But it works fine in Opera.
If I upload to web it's the same results, more or less.
It works just fine in Opera and Edge, and somewhat in Chrome.

There are not many choices for output, so codec is mpeg4 + aac
Do you have links to tests using mp4 from Magix?
What is written in the html produced by Xara for the embedded video?
