sure and I agree, it is not palatable; but more complex than 'greedy bankers'

Whenever you tie salary and bonus to profit you're looking for trouble, whatever the job or industry. Whatever happened to "a good days work for a good days pay". Banks are just such an important part of our economy that they need to have controls placed on them. If banks go down we all go down.

This should help, both shedding light and clarification:

Have a bit of a dig around the site.

    The banks, grubs: no way.

Pity the next 8 or so generations.

I personally know 2 local bank officers who've gone to prison for fraud while working at their respective banks, and I live in a fairly small town (17,100 population).

Actually, both of those criminal banker's wives are good customers of my graphics shop. One wife is an architect (I print her large format house plans), the other runs a restaurant and I do her menus and signage. Both have been my customers for over 15 years - so just that much "personally". In other words, I know the wives, have met (sometimes driving their wives to my shop and rarely entering the shop with them), but don't really "know" the husbands well, as they aren't my clients.
