Default Replace an image in an gif animation

Is there anyway to replace an image in a completed animation without a redo. The new image and the image currently in the animation are basically the same and the new image can have the same image name. The animation is complex and is perfect with the exception of the one flawed image.
If anyone can assist I would appreciate it.

that would depend on how the gif was made - ideally you would want the program it was made with, although again, depending on how it was done it may open in another program in an ok way to edit

in other words - without the gif I can only say 'maybe'

anything can be done with xara
but.....i've made quite a few gifs and also modified some existing ones and the pre-made ones (that is the "borrowed" ones) are tricky to modify if the difference between the frames are semi-transparent partial images; that being the case typically. you can still do it but it takes time to get it right. you just gotta jump in with both feet and check it out

You would have to replace the image in every frame of the animation where the image is shown, so it would pretty much classify as a redo anyway.

Short answer is yes. Depending what you want to do; do you want to replace all instances of the image or just on certain frames. I think theinonen is right on.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

this is not literally true of course - and is the sort of misleading statement that irks me as much as calling a given xara program just 'xara' irks a well known and helpful custodian of another site, although I don't mind that so much

yes - so having the gif would help

this is indeed a possibility, depending on how overlays are done

It's always great when someone asks a question and six hours later hasn't bothered to respond at all.

It is possible though Paul, that he's at work now! Not everyone can get to a computer all day.

I'd be more concerned if it was 6 days.

@handrawn - it's a xara forum plus my comment had a big smile emoticon...just selling it humorously like a used car salesman, which i think most would take it as. the rest of my post explained that it can be done but it would just take some effort

i'm kinda seeing a pattern as to why it's just the same handful of people posting in this entire forum and not many returning noobs. many of the posts that i've had the chance to peruse have had some type of criticism, no matter how small, posted in it.

definitely an all-business, no fun attitude that prevails here. could be a fun forum, especially the challenges part of the forum
