Varying mouse clicks

This is embarrassingly simple but after hours of effort I am stuck. On my web site, a single click on various graphic links moves one to linked pages or resources. One, and only one symbol, requires two clicks to get a response. I would like to standardize this errant link to one click. Very likely, if I deleted the button in question and re-established the link, my problem would be solved (?) but it would not allow me to understand what I had done wrong to make one link different from the others in terms of the number mouse clicks needed. What did I do wrong?

I have moved your question to the Web Design Chat forum.

It sounds to me like the link is corrupted. Select the object, open the Website Properties > Links window and remove the link and click Apply.

Preview the page. Is the cursor still showing the hand symbol when you mouse over the object?

Also, is the object with the weird link grouped with some other object? Or is the object a placeholder to which you have added some script?
