Button to Close a Popup

I want to use my own button to close a popup. I have a mouse-over layer for the popup layer. When the popup layer closes on "popup:close" the mouse-over of the button remains, which is not part of the design. Am I right in thinking the 'x' image that XWD provides does not have a mouse-over image?

If you don't want to have a close button, you need to place the pop-up on a layer named "(lock)lowercase_layer_name".
You can then add your own close button and use popup: close.
