Are there any customizable slider widgets? I am having trouble sizing a slider widget to the size of my web page. Also I would like to be able to include my text in the image and not over the image.

Have a look at http://www.hislider.com/?product-hislider, which has a free version.
This embed into Xara websites quick well.
The downside is it another tool, with its own issues so the trade-off is this against a lot of customisable options.
