I am going to be a Published Author/Illustrator!
Anyone remember my second book, "Armadiilo"? It's the story of a Peruvian armadillo who wants to visit London Zoo, and travels there by DC3, ocean liner, train and Underground, via Rio de Janeiro and Southampton. Here is a selection of pages:

ANYWAY, last year I joined a professional organisation, the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI, pronounced "Scooby"), and through them found out about Raconteur House, a publisher in America who specialise in unconventional children's books and authors. I sent them PDFs of three books I'd already self-published and asked if they would consider taking them on without putting them through the editorial process, as I considered them complete works that I didn't want changed. They wrote back saying yes, it was an unusual request, but they particularly liked "Armadillo" and were prepared to publish, promote and distribute it as it stood. I have signed a contract with them, so now we just have to wait and see what happens! "Armadillo" should be on the market within two months.
