    Default WD Premium Free Trial

I currently have WD7 and downloaded the free trial WD9 Premium to see if an upgrade would make my life easier publishing my website.

Downloaded and all the new features I wanted to have a look at were all locked.

I kinda understand why this is done, but made my attempted evaluation of the product impossible so have not bothered with it and will probably stick with my WD7.

All that I would suggest is to have a free downloadable version that has full functionality but limit the trial period to 1 or 2 days so that people like myself can have a proper look and test it before actually having to take the gamble that the new enhancements are worth it my particular needs.

Have a happy new year guys!

All features are available in the trial. If you don't believe me see this post from a Xara developer http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...803#post495803

OK when I go in and drag the ECWID shop in it says the red folders are only available on purchased products.

I have put the key in and everything but I'd say 80-90% of the design folders are red and locked to me.

Is there any fat fingered thing I have done?

    Thanks,
    Den

Well, not trying to dodge the issue, honest, but that's not a feature of WD9 to my mind, that's a third party extra I'd say. Perhaps a Xara official or somebody who knows for sure will jump in

The trial has full functionality for 30 days but the included contents are limited to only a few samples. If all contents were available, even for one day, it could be copied.

What are you hoping to see working better in the new version?

Dunno really just wanted to see if some of the features were easier or more intuitive, not to say WD7 is not good, but it's like when there is a newer version of Excel or Word with a new feature and you think, ahh I've been wanting to do that for years.

Maybe just to have a look at the flash gallery to see how much easier it is to build rather than faffing about on an external site etc.

Have you already checked Xara's website? If not, take a look at what is new in WD9 and WD9 Premium: http://www.xara.com/us/products/webdesigner/whatsnew/. Of course, there were also the new features in version 8: http://www.xara.com/us/products/webd...hatsnew/older/.

Here you can compare the regular and premium versions and see what additional features are available in the latter: http://www.xara.com/us/products/webdesigner/compare/.

And in case you are interested to see what Designer Pro X9 has to offer in comparison with the other Xara software packages, take a look here: http://www.xara.com/us/designer-pro/compare/
