Getting brushes to work

Hello
I've downloaded Ivan's Fire brush. I open the file, minimize it, so I can pick it from the line gallery-in the new brush folder. However, when I use it, it appears only 1 color-red and not multicolored.

What am I doing wrong?

The images Ivan created are actually several lines of different colours overlayed on each other. If you click on one of the lines in Ivans file and drag it you will see what I mean.
