    Default Update for Builders website

I created a website for this builder about 8 years ago and just did a redesign plus a mobile site. A lot of the photos are old and will need to be redone at some point.

I created my own repeating background grid pattern and then made a lite version for the page.

Personally, that grid background is very distracting.

On the desktop site I'm seeing two squares on top of the slideshow one white and one with the grid pattern are those meant to be there? They aren't on the mobile site.

Heh heh, good eye Francis. Not sure how those got there. They are the two tiles for the light and dark grid patterns.

    They are gone now.

It tells me that you place type and/or a logo over the placeholder and it would appear over the slide show.

That's very useful to know. I thought those were the grid tiles but I wan't sure if it was an intentional part of the design.

Good clean look to the site, I like the repeating background which is reminiscent of a mosaic pattern. my only gripes are the grid pattern behind the content and the navigation does not look like navigation on the home page, the rest of the pages the navigation is good and placed well, I know that we should try different types of navigation but a first time visitor should know where everything is, make it as easy as possible to get the information they need, otherwise they will click onto someone else's site quicker than you can say 'come back. The folder system you have on the homes page is very good indeed, might have to be 'inspired' (read steal) that in one of my projects
