Both my grandson & granddaughter have birthdays in early June and both watch childrens programmes on a BBC channel for children. Both like drawing and therefore always look at the birthday greetings that are sent in so this year again I have posted birthday greetings for them using themes of Postman Pat & Mr. Blooms Nursery.
Both drawings are done from pencil and ink drawings which are scanned and brought in to Xara. The docs. are then traced using the Bitmap Tracer and I have used Paul's tracing settings for years which work very well so long as you don't spend to much time cleaning up the tracing just accept what you get. As the drawings were printed at my old work place in A3+ I did not use much in the way of RGB effects but things like Postman Pat's logo needed to have them as the original does. In each drawing there is lift up parts to show show the birthday boy & girl, Pat's logo is one place and the squash is the other with photo's printed underneath as part of the drawing. Each drawing took about 3 hours in Xara to do, not including the pen & ink sketches. I have found that the Bitmap Tracer works better with smaller drawings so I have to spend more time cleaning up the drawings in PS and I don't use Paul's threshold setting I use 170 to get cleaner lines. Hope you like.
