    Question Text Rotated 90 degrees. Can it be searchable in a browser

    If text is rotated 90° is there a way for it to be found using the search/find function in a browser?

    Using Xara Designer Pro and Chrome.

    Any XWD rotation od text produces a graphic. You do however get the original text adeed as the ALT tag to the image.
    I rotated "Search text" some arbrirary degree to produce HTML:
    <img class="xr_ap" src="index_htm_files/1.png" alt="Search text" title="" style="left: 234px; top: 213px; width: 125px; height: 85px;"/>
    It is not searchable in Chrome unless you examine the Source code.

    In the new XWD9(P), I believe the text is rendered as HTML5 so should be found.
    I can't check as I am on a differenct machine right now.

    Just checked, XWD9P renders in the same old way.
    So your Chrome part of your question is no.

    This is a big downside in my view.

    What I just tried is cloning the text block and rotating it. For the copy underneath I set the font colour to White. Both image and text are published and the "invisible" White text is found in a Chrome search.

    I imagine this may have little practical use, it at least would get a viewer to the right place on your page.
    I would shrink the White text to as small as possible and use it as an anchor. Don't change aspect ratio or add shadows, etc to the White anchor; this only would create another image...
