Filter Forge poll on Facebook

The filter Forge facebook page has a poll looking at different plug in hosts. Filter Forge is planning on making Xara a fully supported host so if you have used filter forge as a Xara plug in or think you might in future have a look and vote for Xara in this poll this information could be helpful to them.

I am an old foggy. I don't desire to do the FB thing. Do they have the poll also on their web site? I couldn't find one. anything that enhances Xara I am all for. Even bitmappy stuff <g>

Filter Forge works well as a plugin with Xara what fully supported plug will mean is that it will automatically recognize Xara as a host when you install Filter Forge, and possibly a few more little quirks might be on the list to get fixed.

I tried to find the survey and vote for Xara, but, not sure I was successful.
Now that I am here again, I was thinking of buying filter forge but the only one I can almost afford is the basic. Which co you recommend? I don't think I need the pro but the standard sounds good.

Hi Larry,

It really depends on what you will be using it for, if you are going to be using it mostly as a plug in for Xara the Standard version should be more than enough it will give you access to the Filter Forge Library and it has the filter editor which gives you the ability to create your own filters and gives you access to many types of noise and blending modes that Xara doesn't have. The Pro version has support for multi core computers while the standard has support for up to dual core, and the Pro version will generate bump maps, normal maps, etc for use in 3d programs

Hi Larry, we have a fully-functional 30-day trial version. I'd suggest you use it to the fullest and decide if you want to create your own filters with the Standard Edition or if Basic will be enough for you.
