    Default Text rendering

Hi, am new to this forum and have been a Web Designer MX Premium user for 5 months.
I still have not managed to understand why and how text is rendered as an image in certain cases and generated as live html text in others.
This happens even for two "linked" text blocks on the same page.
Help would be highly appreciated. Thanks. Geeewiz7

    Welcome to TalkGraphics

Text is generally rendered as editable HTML text unless you add a drop shadow, add a bevel, add a bitmap fill or group the text. All of these things will cause text to be exported as bitmaps.

That said, a new feature in the current versions adds an Alt text description of the text, even though it has been exported as a bitmap. So search engines will still be able to identify the content of the text.

Can anyone tell me why I cannot find this simple and helpful one button tool on MX8? I've looked all over the place on extra tool buttons etc and I cannot find it.

It is there on Designer ProX right after the spell check button a simple button which when pressed opens a drop down and the first thing you see is you've got your aspect wrong (yes I have them both) but isn't on WebDesigner MX unless I am being really dense and missing something.

    Cheers
    David

You're not dense, the text aspect adjustment is not in MX

another reason, sadly, that demonstrates splitting the program into many versions can have serious drawbacks
