    Somewhere in this forum I saw a posting re graduated fills along a path, it was probably on one of the requested future features, but I can't find it now.
    As a work round try this.
    Make a blend
    Apply to a path (a line)
    Make the required shape to be filled.
    Place behind blend
    Select all
    Arrange / apply clip view
    All items remain editable via Ctrl left click

    Well, easter eggs have been known to acquire some unusual decorations. Why not an egg in pine's clothing?
