frontpage is no longer supported - I guess you should not still be using it...
-------------------------------
Nothing lasts forever...
FrontPage extensions are what is being dropped by most hosts. If one doesn't use shared borders or other widget stuff dependent upon the FP Extensions, FP output is no different than any other HTML design software.
Take care, Mike
Rik - I find this almost shocking. You have been using Xara Designer Pro for some time and getting better and better but you never have tried out the web tools?
I am sure you will love the freedom and design power. Plus you can do everything in one application.
Do it!

Gary - I've only ever done two web sites for companies and that was a long time ago (year 1999, I think it was).
The rest have been more for personal use. Did them all in FrontPage and again some years ago.
So, I've never really had a need to look at the web features in XDP7.
But, now I need to do another one for personal use and I could very easily do it in FrontPage but the opportunity is there to do it in Xara.
That's why I'm over here asking questions!
It seems that you can pace the menu buttons anywhere and Xara will take care of the rollovers. I think I can see where you would link the menu buttons.
It also seems that you can have DHTML Navbars or Layer Driven Custom Navbars (saw a youtube video).
I believe one is easy but the other is more flexible?
So, I'll see how I get on?!

Rik - Just design some sites for fun. Design a site for yourself and see how creative you can be. You can't break anything.

That's quite a bold statement, Gary!
I do know what you mean though.
I've not had a reason to use Xara for this purpose, is the real answer.
Plus I've been trying to learn how to draw using Xara, in the first place!
But, now there is a reason to.
I just have to convince myself not to rush and fall back on FrontPage, even though I need the site to be up and running fairly quickly.
Can I also say an early thanks to Drwyd (I wish I knew how to pronounce that!) for the tutorial.
I will look at that as soon as I get home from work.

I followed the same route from FrontPage to DP. DP is much more flexible. Like all programs you need patience and the help of friends to overcome the occasional roadblock. I have no idea what type of website you want to do but you can take a look at mine about our trip plus photos. ptolemeeplus.ca/triphotos/France2011 It's a combination of DP and jAlbum. It was rough going at first as I hadn't touched the program for many months but I finally got what I wanted.
Good luck.
