Shadows add pounds so the doughnuts are less fattening without them.

Frances did you use a Spray for Xara metafile to cover the doughnut for that doughy look or something else? Hope you don't mind me asking as it gives a good effect for all bread drawings.

Hello Stygg, the doughnut was created from an extrusion with a couple of layers of transparencies overtop to give the textured look. When I originally drew the doughnuts I had a plate full of homemade mini cake doughnuts to look at

I may look at doing a new tutorial that will feature some of my techniques for texturing extrusions.

Look forward to that Frances, in the meantime I pulled your doughnut to peices and had a good look how you did it, hope you don't mind and I've been making doughnuts all day, some chockalet, toffee and syrup covered ones, feel quite sick now!

Sounds like you have been having fun Stygg. I've decided to go ahead with the doughnut tutorial, I've refined my technique and I think it will make a good tutorial.
