Joe,
Try drawing the same line with the mouse and see what happens. I just doodled all over the page with the chain and a profile and had no problems. See if it is your computer or mouse/tablet driver.

Tried both setting page size to 500mb. No improvement.
Tried using only the mouse. No improvement.
Keep in mind, this worked fine on Xara X. Seems to be broken with X1.
Thanks for the responses!

Hi Joe,
i will try it on my tablet at work tommorrow. But it is working fine here at home with X1. I am running the download Version. Have not received my boxed set yet.

Strange one this. It would appear that it works as it should for almost everybody (Mine with both mouse and tablet) but for some reason your computer is playing up.
Do you still have XaraX installed and does it work correctly there?

After an initial investigation it appears that there is a bug with the real-time redraw of strokes in 16 bpp screen modes.
Infoneer: Are you in a 16 bpp screen mode? If so can you try in a 24 or 32 bpp screen mode and see if that fixes the problem. Incidentally, XaraX should actually render faster in 32 bpp screen modes so unless there is some other reason why you need to use 16 bpp then I would recommend that you always run in 32 bpp anyway.
Could a few other people also try this out in 16 bpp screen modes (we have only tested it so far on Intel 82845 and ATI Radeon 9000 graphics adapters) and post the results along with what graphics adapter you have here?
Thank you,
Gerry Iles
Same thing happens at 16bpp on my PC. Display adapter is Hercules 3D Prophet 9200.

Ah... I just tried Xara X1 on my machine here at work (my machine at home is the one I'm having problems with, I'll try it tonight)... in 32 bpp mode it works well. In 16 bpp, the same problem exists.
The machine at works is a ATI Radeon 9800 Pro.
I have never heard the term bpp, but if I change the # of colors from 32 to 16 I can duplicate the problem repeatably.

bpp means bits per pixel.
thanks to all for the responses and hints.
