I'm familiar with Subdivision modeling, It was the term you used (high-level SubSurf modifier) that I didn't understand. Thanks for the explanation.

Hello Mike,
Went to visit a friend that has ZBrush, though strangely, he said he doesn't use it much. (From looking at his desktop, he has more software than he could use.)
At any rate, my main interest was to go in and play around and see if I liked it... and of course, to see if things created in ZBrush could be brought into Blender.
Here's my first ZBrush -> Blender attempt. The objects should look familiar as well as the raking on the blob.
Rendered w/ Blender-Cycles
(stopped after 72 passes)
Peace
James
Yes...The objects should look familiar as well as the raking on the blob.
ZBrush has a series of plug-ins called GoZ for sealmless work with various 2D/3D progams. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthr...toshop-Support
There is some Blender GoZ development you may be interested in. http://www.blender.org/forum/viewtop...1938ec110a96fc

Hello Mike
I went and read the thread and watched the video. It appears that the Alpha version of the GoZ for Blender is working...
There will probably need to be some changes since Cycles will become (likely) the new internal rendering engine for Blender and it requires some different approaches. (The Dec. release is supposed to already have Cycles integration, so can't comment for sure about any details yet.)
That's a great idea. If they make it so that the displacement and normal (etc.) maps and the Materials are able to make the transition from ZBrush to Blender, then it would be wonderful using the two together. (3, since we have to include Xara)
It's amazing how far all of this has gone.
ZBrush just had the major update and Blender is being moved along constantly, so the future will only get brighter!
Peace
James
