How can I adjust the footer length?

Hi,
How can I adjust the footer length in my website design? This adjustment should be done ONLY in the index page, which is:

The remaining pages, as you will see, do not need such an adjustment. They all fit the screen. However the index page scrolls down too much.

I tried to modify this page in ''Page Options''. Page size: Custom; Page width:770 and Page height:1281.
I changed the height value from 1261 down to, say 1161. After changing the value I got an error message of ''Internal program error 949.k.ba.nd''. The backgroundcolor also changed to dark grey.
