    Hello Guy,

Did you UV unwrap it? It needs the UV coordinates to know where each of your paint strokes is going...

At first thought, this was my guess to what might be wrong.

    Hi James,

I think I did unwrap as that was clearly mentioned in the video.
Meanwhile I got another reply from the CG Cookie helpdesk, and apparently switching shading from multitexture to GLSL does help. I can see the paint strokes now. It's not yet behaving as expected, but I'll just restart the exercise from scratch, paying attention to the different settings.

I don't know if these will help Guy, but they might.

Not sure what versions of blender they are using though. The las one is definitely a 2.5 video.
There is also another one on blender cookie where he is texture painting a spider.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

Thanks Larry, I'll give it a try. Whenever the problem is solved I will post it in this thread.

I had a look at these links Larry. The first one is the video I tried to follow, whereas the second one is 2.5 - the feature I'm trying out is not there yet (appeared in 2.6).

    Thanks anyway for trying.
