Default Advice/Tutorial on working with databases & WD7P

Has anyone integrated a database into a site developed with WD7 Premium? If so, what's the best method to get started?

Also, has anyone tried to use Google Fusion Tables with WD7P?

I think it is possible. But as I have not done this, another member will have to reveal how. I do think that a few members have integrated a database with WD7.

Haven't tried Google Fusion Tables but did use PHP. It is messy especially when you have to put the code into placeholders, additionally Xara does not do dynamic page sizing well, at least I didn't get it working (but didn't spend much time on it). In the end I purchased Appgini and simply put a link to a logon page for the Appgini database; I use a Linux web hosting service. It's not a polished solution but adequate.

The database stores club members, trips, payments & club property loans. The Appgini front end has built-in security which the admin can manage. Appgini is fairly priced.

I will be interested in any other comments others may make on this topic.
