Yes. But PDF files are more effective and the import/export filters are more up to date.
PDF is really replacing EPS.

True. However, the microstock sites use EPS as their universal vector format, so it won't be going away any time soon.
EPS export is only really used as web way of transfering files around due to the way it treats fonts which is easier than the way PDF treats fonts. As Gary has told you Xara has left of doing any development of its filter so a newly exported drawing say coming from Illustrator can't be read or imported into Xara. To be honest here I think Xara was quite right to put all of its small development budget into the PDF filter as EPS is not really used for print houses any more as it can't really cope with many of the newer developments in rendering a drawing as it can only deal with very simple trnaparencies.
Design is thinking made visual.
I send work to the microstock sites and they want EPS in AI version 8 stock. I have to export as AI.eps, send to a friend who opens and resaves it in an old Adobe Illustrator and sends it back to me. Really quite a hassle. Don't know any other way to do it though and it does work.

A nothing thing to note that EPS format (for basic Xar files anyway) can be imported in Illustrator and Xara's layer designations are retained v.s. PDF which are not.
Good to know, thanks.
