Text in a PhotoPaint image becomes corrupted when it's left as text and saved as a CPT file. There's no problem if the text object is "combined with background".
Is there a cure, other than an upgrade to a newer version? I'm using the update 7.467.

What PhotoPaint 7 version are you running?
Did you download and run the patches?
Does it happens with every font family or anyone in particular?
Michael:
I use Ariel (normal and bold) exclusively in my technical illustrations. Everything's fine until I reload an image from a saved CPT file. When I reselect a corrupt text block with the text tool, it corrects the problem. If I don't notice a corrupt text block, and print or save as a different file type (eg TIF), the corrupted version persists. The corruption shows itself as a vertical bar on the left side of a character.
I'm using version 7.467. This is, I believe, the latest one - I got the update CD from Corel.

True Type or Type 1 font?

This mean that it doesn't happen all the time. Right?

Right. David Brown
If the problem is not constant. You should check if it happens using a particular font(s). Font may be corrupted.
