Being on medicare the total bill to me was only $340 so I cannot complain. And it only took two weeks after I decided to have the surgery to get it done. I was thinking about "supplies" and it dawned on me that the actual replacement hip is included in there, so the price was not as outrageous as I first thought.
Hope you recover fully, inshallah. God bless our national health service, we have our problems here in the UK as well, but I don't see any system in any country which is perfect.
Grace,
At least you knew your problem. With us, the doctor said Laura had a problem but it wasn't his speciality and didn't tell her what it was. We went through a lot just getting started. The cost ended up being about 250K. Good thing we had insurance. Then there was the shoulder surgery. It was about 50K less. Next was ICU with meningitis, about 190K.
We have friends that don't have insurance.
