How can I square up a bitmap that has one end larger than the other?

Hi,
Draw a rectangle over the image using the narrowest point that includes the part of image wanted, sselect both and trim ctrl+4.
that is what i'd do in Xara...in bitmap editor the same procedure only woth a mask then crop to maks.

I would use a Perspective envelope. It will take a bit of trial and effort. Use guidelines so you can see where you need to be and adjust each side.
You can also try the Perspective Correction function in the Photo Tool fly out. I have had mixed results with this but sometimes it works quite well. At any rate it is non-destructive so if the results are not satisfactory, just remove the effect.

Can you attach your image please, because the last two posters have understood your question in distinctly different ways. It would be useful to know exactly what you need to achieve
Scotty, thanks for your reply, but if I understand you, I'd be cutting off portions of my bitmap. I don't want to do that. I want to stretch the narrow end so it is the same wisdth as the other end.
Gary, I believe you have the right approach. I haven't had the chance to try it yet though.
ShapeShifter, I'd attach my bitmap if I knew how.

This post may help: http://www.talkgraphics.com/showthre...ttach-an-image
It was created when TG used an earlier version of vbulletin, but the basics are the same.

Was that a kiss?
