    Hi ya folks,

I'm back. Been gone for a while.

Is there a Xara tutorial in the Trompe site that address Flash?

Just got Flash 5 and would like to use images in Xara in Flash.

Will be getting Xara X as soon as funds are authorized for purchased.

    Appreciate any help.

    Thanks,

Nope. No tutorial on Flash. Probably won't be one unless a future release of Xara X supports more than just single images. That said, if you export a GIF animation as SWF from Xara X all the frames do come into Flash, only they all come in on the same frame.

Basically, when creating images for Flash in Xara 2 or X, remember the limitations of Flash and keep your images Flash complient--no Conical fills, or any kind of fill except linear and circular. Same with transparency. Even though Xara can create some stunning transparency effects, Flash can't read more than flat.

Bitmaps work OK in Flash but defeat the purpose of Flash's compression scheme although Flash manages to compress even compressed images and can really compress sound files.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks Gary.

Will keep those things in mind.

Looks like I've got a lot of catching up to do. Need to look at the Trompe tutorials from early 2000.

Thanks again and will be checking back more often now.
