    Default Ice Cream Monster

My entry for a threadless t-shirt design competition. That was just an excuse to make me do something fun and not work related. It is really interesting to work with such limited colours. I think I'm going to try more of that:-)Click image for larger version.

It has a retro look that I associate with these limited colour images. Looks great in fact.

I agree with Derek it looks great. Limited color artworks have a charm all their own.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.

    Thanks Guys.
I think the limited flat colour thing has legs. All I have to do is make myself do it. :-)
By the way the background colour was one of the ones provided. Not one I would have chosen but again it moved the Illustration in an interesting direction.

If anyone fancy's having a go. Threadless has regular competitions and you can submit a regular T shirt design at any time. I would say that I don't really get anything but plain t-shirts and I am not comfortable with their whole facebook/crowd sourcing way of working but the deadlines and limitations are a good motivation.

My piece is up for voting here:

Give it a go and spread the Xara word :-D

I have not really viewed any posts in the section of the forum for the simple fact that I do not use designer pro but after looking at this I think I will, very professional .Reminds me so much of the gerald mcboing boing toons. and other 60s toons. Clear, clean and great use of colours. copyright it straight away. Brilliant

    Thanks Sketch!
He he I do try to do this sort of stuff for a living and Xara is my weapon of choice. I'm an animator as well and love the designs of those old cartoons
I'm currently in the midst of a limited colour craze at the moment. In fact here is another one :-)Click image for larger version.
