Saving WD6 files

Hi This may sound a bit stupid but I'm not sure if I'm saving my WD6 files properly. I'm going into 'save as' then give it a name such as index and save it as 'all files'. I've exported the files as well but they won't open. The only saved files that open are the ones that are 'saved as' but sometimes these won't open either. What am I doing wrong.

you have to save your project as a .web file

web designer is not an HTML editor - it cannot open HTML files, it only exports them
