A thread in the 'Off-topic chat' forum got me thinking!
I thought I would try and add a bit to the TG Logo.
So, here's my input.

I like it Rik, especially number 2. The colors go better with the theme of the logo, in my opinion. I like the text line "a place for imagineering" great idea.

Never give up. You will never fail, but you may find a lot of ways that don't work.
You're a virtual graphics machine, Rik. Keep'em rolling, I like it.
Thanks for your comments Larry and gray.
I thought I would have another go.
You never know?
One of these might catch on!
I hope I am still doing Derek's Logo justice.

Just to be my usual contrarian self Rik, while I like what you are doing I think that it competes with the logo or it becomes part of the logo. Sometimes it is better to have more of a separation or contrast. So if the logo is colorful an loose then the tag line (and I question if one is really necessary) should be simple and not compete with the logo. Ya know?

Gary: I agree with the separation part. That's why originally I had done two versions. I suppose I got a bit carried away with the colours!
Maybe that was Derek's original idea - to hypnotise.
Well he certainly managed that with me.
Whether it needs a tag line, that's a matter of opinion (and I'm not saying I disagree with you) and I will probably only come up with one other. If I can think of one?!

Gary's point is the very one that stopped me from continuing the TALK text style with the word GRAPHICS as I thought it would be too much.
Though the word graphics is important I thought it to be secondary to TALK and so I emphasised TALK and made it hopefully stand out as the most important function of the site. Whether or not it looks as though its meant for 5 year olds or not, I feel the jury is out on that. I just wanted it to be colourful and prominent without writing the word and then drawing a picture to illustrate talking which I felt was going a bit unnecessarily far (just me).
In truth this represents about 30 - 45 minutes one afternoon so I don't want to make it sound as though too much thought and agonising went into it
As Gary says, perhaps any extra wording you add should be in a similar vein to the 'graphics' rather than compete with TALK.

Fantastic to have your input also Derek.
Gary made some great points and it's great to read your explanation also.
Well, this is probably my last go at a 'tag line' - as it has been tagged by Gary.
I liked the word 'imagination' and as we are a forum with people from around the world, in one place, "one nation" as it were!
I have taken artistic license and expanded the word 'imagination' to be 'imagine-nation'.
So that's the thinking behind the tag line.
My 'tag line' idea was sparked by a thread that made changes to the original logo!

I think adding this extra text is akin to putting dots inside the Os in the word LOOK. It is not really necessary (IMHO—which of course never is). The purpose of this site is to TALK [about] GRAPHICS and that really summarizes the site very neatly.

Oh well. You can't blame me for trying!
I still think that my last 'tag-line' would make a good addition.
But as you say Gary - it's only my opinion.
