Default Google Analytics in WebDesign 7.04?

As most of you know, Google Analytics is a popular means of tracking marketing metrics for a lot of websites these days. To impliment it requires placing a small amount of JavaScript just before the </head> tag in the header of each page.

Is there some way to do this using WebDesign 7.04? TIA.

Your image shows Web Designer 6's web properties page.

Give your placeholder the name <head>. You must include the angle brackets.

Nope, I'm using WD 7.04 and the placeholder name is <head> See link below...

Sorry RW but your images seem to show the Web designer 6 green colour logo rather than the gold colour of Web Designer 7.

Are you running Windows Vista or Windows 7? If you are please close WD7 then right click on it's desktop icon and select Run as administrator from the popup menu. You should only need to do this once. This will allow the program to properly update the registry and should allow portions that are not working correctly now to work as they should.

Web Designer 7, unlike Web Designer 7 Premium, does not have (Head) code fields. Bob's screenshots are made of the Web Designer 7.
In this case the correct way is to use code placeholder object with the "<head>" name, same way as in WD6.

So, is it still not working?

It usually takes Google Analytics a day to register and to update.

    gwpriester and covoxer,

OK, now I get it. Yes, naming the object/placemarker <head> and then inserting the code in the single code box works just fine. My confusion was that gwpriester's dialog box and mine were different (His has separate boxes for the body and header.) I guess if I pop for the premium version, I'll have that version of the dialog box. I might just get the premium version as i'm very impressed with both the 7.04 regular s/w and the people on this forum. I wish there was a larger selection of templates in both versions (I'm lazy.)

Thanks again, guys for all your help.
