    The red one looks more realistic 3D sphere than the blue one....

    An easy method for drawing a simple sphere.
    1. Fill a circle with color.
    2. Create the hi-lite by filling a duplicate circle with white, use a circular transparency, offset the center of the transparency as illustrated.
    3. create an arc for the lower shading and feather the edge.

    Very nice mini-tut Mike. An alternative method was posted a few years ago by Mark Goodall, formerly of Xara Ltd.

    Mike, yes it is easier that way. Also, you have more control using the fill. It easy to put a stripe around the sphere, too http://www.talkgraphics.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif
