Sorry if this question has been asked before, but I'm new to this game.
I am using Web Designer 5.0.1 and was working on a page and must have accidentally pressed some key, which resulted in the layer gallery disappearing from the screen. The icon remains depressed but the layer gallery is no longer on top. Have tried scrolling around the page, have tried closing and re-opening but to no avail.
Well, you’re going to find this funny Tommo. I tried to simulate your problem, and when I moved the layers window to the left or right of the screen it snapped into taller boxes. When I placed at the bottom of the screen, tucking it as far down as I could go, it didn’t snap into any kind of box. Yippee. Only problem is that now I can’t get hold of it…
I found that if I go to Window/Full screen, and then press the layers icon again, it comes up on the page fine. I can use it all I like, but as soon as I get out of full screen (num. 8 on the keypad or place cursor at top of screen until menu bar appears, then Window/uncheck Full Screen), the layer window is back at the bottom again. I’ve attached a piece of a screensave.
So it looks like we both have this problem now, but at least you can try the full screen method to get it working for a while.

you can try going to the web designer menu: Window > Control Bars
and then click on Reset
note this will reset customised changes that you have made to the control bars but it should also restore the gallery if it has somehow been lost off screen
