looking at the screenshots from Xara's new Web Design 6, I can't help shivering about the user interface.
Please Xara, if you plan to change the colours of the ui, reconsider or try to make it an option to revert to the stale grey we love!

and don't forget that doing this resets the toolbars to the default
I've added this post so that this key combo is easy to find - I just spent 20 minutes searching for it!

I can't remember if anyone's asked this. Is it possible to save the toolbar config somewhere and reload it upon changing the interface?

I can't say I'm totally surprised that this subject has come up again.
I believe a poll was taken to see who preferred what.
I think that this was just a poll and not a vote on whether Xara would change the UI
I keep trying to use the dark UI, but find myself going back to the light UI.
So, you can't say that I am not trying.
I am lead to believe that Xara will not support the light UI if you have a problem. I hope that this is not the case though?!
I'm sure someone in power can tell us.

I do try from time to time as well, but frankly it's simply painful on the old eyes.
It may have been mentioned in passing, but I hope that would not be the case in practice. I guess it referred to giving GUI-assocoated assistance, but I can't see Xara support saying "sorry, you switched back to the old grey gooey so we can't support your problem".

It was mentioned that Xara may not support the ability to switch the UI to the IMHO better original UI in future releases.
The logic being they could not afford to support two versions of the UI with the time required to create the various UI elements.
With many complaints of small scrollbars, small scrollbar thumbs, and other issues with the Code Jock skin (new darker UI) I would say it would be best to keep the UI as the original version. The developers are very familiar with it and would be easier to maintain.

The dark UI baffled me... not sure why anyone would find that appealing. It's so contrary to every programme I use. I think the only one that came close was Adobe Photoshop, and I use that so rarely anyway I don't care.
I'd start a revolution, if I could get up in the morning.
The MAGIX Video Edit Pro program I just bought uses exactly the same colour scheme. Nuff said...

I'm torn on the issue.
On the one hand, I like the new darker UI and think it's spiffy. On the other hand it's been at least 6 months since I looked in on the forums and people are still whining about it.
Sort of a reminder about why I stopped making the forum a daily stop in my web browsing in the first place.
