Default The best way to do this - contact fields

    Hello,

I am new to web designer 6 and have a question.

I want to add a contacts page where the contact persons will be in a list on the
left side of the page (the contact names will actually be rectangular buttons).
When a viewer clicks on a contact name the mouseover will turn that button red, when they click the button I want that persons contact information to come up in a rectangle to the right of the contacts (will include an image and contact details). The same will occur when they click another contact in the list, the first contact information will be replaced with the next contact information and so on.

I don't want to have to create a separate page for each contact and I am sure there is an easier way but being new to the application I am struggling.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Andre

    Hello Andre,

    Welcome to Talkgraphics.

Which version of Web Designer are you using? Version 5 or Version 6?

The technique to create what you want can be done a little differently in each version.

I am still learning this aspect of WD6 but it is coming along.

Hello and thanks for the reply.

I did look into layers but don't know if this is the best way to achieve what I am trying to do.

    Thanks again

Just looking for some step by step guidance if anyone has implemented something similar.

I am sure someone will correct me if wrong, but layers is the way to do it, the link gives you step by step, if you add a photo and group it making the combined text and image part of that layer it will do a pop up on the mouse over.

The link takes you step by step, you simply should be able to add the photo and group it.

    Hi Andrew,

If it were me, I would accomplish what you want by using popup layers.

I am attaching an example for you to take apart and see how it was done.

    I hope it helps.
