identical layer names

it is possible in designer pro 6 to give two layers identical names

this may have a legitimate use that I am not aware of

when it happens one of the two identically named layers becomes unhidable and unlockable

the first time I did this [accidentally] one of the identically named layers was also uneditable - but I have not since been able to recreate this

I suspect that having two layers with the same name causes considerable confusion within the program. So, Xara must treat one or the other layer as legitimate and treat the duplicate as a mistake.

I think you are inventing a problem for the sake of inventing a problem. Especially since you don't have a specific reason why you would need to have two layers with the same name.

It would be like your mother naming your brother Steve. Ya know what I mean?

I think that Steve was pointing out that currently it is possible and shouldn't be possible..

As far as I know, this has not been reported before and something the developers will find interesting to look into.
