FTP Error

I have been using Web Designer 6 with no issues until today. Now I am getting this error when trying to publish.

Any ideas?

Hi,

It sounds like the server you are trying to upload to is either behind a firewall or is being NAT'd. This can cause problems when uploading with Web Designer.

Try checking your FTP settings and switching it between "Active" and "Passive" mode and see if you have any luck with either.

Usually this error occurs in ordinary FTP programs when the FTP server is responding from a different IP address to that which the client is connecting to.

Download the freeware program XaReg from the XaraXone shareware page.

Extract XaReg.exe from the zip file to a folder on your hard drive.

Close Web Designer and any version of Xara Xtreme you may have open.

Run XaReg and it will find Web Designer and Xtreme versions you have installed. In the Web Designer tab the FTP options are on the right side of the dialog. The FTP Trace option is on the bottom of the list but it is in Bold type. Enable FTP Trace by placing a tick in the checkbox. Run the DebugView program, a link is provided just below the FTP Trace checkbox.

Open Web Designer and publish your site. DebugView will record details about the FTP operation....
