It would be nice to have the shadow of an object show up in the color editor (Call it local shadow color) as well, so that changing it would be easier than doing the drag and drop into the shadow ares.

Yeah, that'd be a nice new feature.
Now what'd be really nice is if the drop shadow was a feathered vector object and not an alpha channel bitmap

I've moved the thread to the 'Dear Xara..' forum to catch the right eye (well, both eyes actually )
Often I make my own shadows from vector shapes for this very reason.
Love to learn how to make a vector shadow, do you use feathering tool on it? Still wouldn't it show as bitmap when exported as pdf/x?
Here is a good thread, especially Gary's tip on how to vector a floor shadow:

behzad, why don't you Ctrl+Click with the mouse to select the shadow then open the Color Editor and make the desired color change? It's the way I usually change the color of an objects shadow. I find it much easier than trying to drag-n-drop a color onto a shadow especially in a complex drawing.
Or you can use the layer gallery to select the shadow before changing its color using the Color Editor.
Give it a try,
Harry

Great tip Harry, I forgot that one!
I love you guys, this is a great forum, so much help and an amazing program too
Agreed. Having the shadow available as a selection in the dropdown in the Color Editor would be an intuitive addition.
