Yes, step-by-step are easier to follow, both have Advantages and disadvantages, and the author can explain more details in a video, but my native languaje is Spanish, and i do not have enought users speaking spanish.

The on-line tutorial worked for me both times. The .avi (the first one) and the new quicktime (the current one).

Looking forward to the new attachment so that I can download and try the tutorial.

    Thanks so far Jose.

    Nice one Jose.

The new QuickTime movie opens up beautifully.

Thank you for your detailed reply, Josè. I do understand your point, I really do. I'm sure people prefer to see your video tutorials than to see nothing at all. I also agree with every one of your points about the time it takes to make a graphic tutorial. I've made enough of them in my time to know that! However, how about reducing your Xara window size when you record the tutorial and then reducing the file further in an app like Format Factory* where you can choose the output settings and format?

Thank you for making your tutorial!

*FF is completely free and is very, very good.

    Cool Re: Wallpaper tutorial

Well, it's good news, I finally got the 140MB wallpaper video to download to my PC yesterday and then managed to work my way through the entire tutorial. If you can persevere to the end, the resulting effects and wallpaper are very nice, indeed.

Someone new to Xara Xtreme, Picture & Graphics Designer, or Graphics Designer Pro might have a bit of difficulty following, and actually seeing, what's being done in several of the sections but, overall, a nice 'little' video tutorial. Thank you, Josè.

    Two thumbs up,
    Harry

    Hi Harry.

Very nice indeed. I think you did a fantastic job.

I hope, when I do mine, it's as good as yours.

I haven't had the energy to try anything yet as I'm just back from my holidays and haven't yet recovered from the long drive home. Even though the drive was yesterday!

Mind you, having seen the video and having seen what you have done, you've got me itching to have a go.

    Thumbs up Re: Wallpaper tutorial

    Well Harry.

You got me so worked up that I just had to have a go.

    So, here is my attempt.

I did mine in different colours. The initial idea of the colours was good but don't know if it works?!!!

Thanks for the video Jose. It works very well but the user does need some degree of expertise.
Having said that, because you can pause the video, you can follow what is being done with some care.
To give others an idea, I would class myself as a relative beginner, who has been playing about with Xara for about a year.

I'm sure I speak for many when I say, "Thanks for your hard work Jose."

Looking forward to your next recipe!
