Shape Editor Tool - BUG?

Hi Xperts.

Xara Designer Pro 6

I used to be able to draw a rectangle, then use the Shape Editor Tool and change the shape - like arc out one of the sides.

Now that doesn't seem to work?

If I change the shape to editable shapes, then I can adjust the sides.
But, I don't remember having to do that before?

Am I imagining things?!

I have attached a pic to show what I mean.

As far as i remember it always worked that way. You must first convert to editable shapes to make changes to the control points/handles.

I think it always worked that way. I just tried it in XX4 and XX5 and in both cases the rectangle had to be converted to an editable shape before the shape editor tool worked on it...

Well, I can see that the answer to my problem is simple. I'M GOING MAD!
