Unhappy Transparent Animated GIF Showing Previous Frames...

Hi and thanks in advance for any help. This problem is making me tear out what's left of my hair...

I've created an animated gif which I need to have a transparent background. It displays fine within Photoshop (CS4 on Vista), but when I save it for the web and set the background to transparent, the final animation displays all (three) of the frames, creating an unwanted "ghosting" effect. When I save the animated gif without a transparent background, there is no problem and each frame overwrites the last, as required. But it must be transparent. I have looked high and low online for a solution to this problem but can find nothing. I can't even understand why this behaviour would ever be wanted.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank You.

    Chris.

Solved! I idiotically had the frames set to "do not dispose".

'ghosting' can be useful for certain effects
