    Default Snowy Texas Spring

Wouldn't you know it! The first day of spring and we get snow in Texas. Took a few with my trusty Fujifilm DSLR. All handheld, no retouching, just a resizing using Free Picture Resizer program. I'm glad I had a full feeder ready for the snow.

Ironicaly that's more snow than we've had here all winter! An El Nino in the South Pacific caused a change in weather patterns that sent warm wet (and I mean very wet) systems up the west coast one after another for months. That's why they had to truck in snow to Vancouver for the Olympics.

Thanks Soquili. Francis, the snow was all gone by 6PM the same day. Hey, at least I have power, since the last snow storm cut power for three days.

What part of Texas do you live in?
    That's a lot of snow.

Great photos Chuckray. That little red bird doesn't seem that impressed by all the white stuff.

I live in Mesquite, which is East Dallas County and this is the coldest winter on record here. It never snows this much and was a welcome site for me, since I was born in Wisconsin, but we got to Texas as fast as we could. I really miss my Canon EOS film camera sometimes, cause I miss it's responsiveness, but I do love not changing film and correcting exposure when needed. I do find this Fujifilm camera to be pretty good at exposures. For me the viewfinder is a little small and doesn't have the focus aids that the Canon had. Maybe I will check to see if I can get different focus screens. Thanks for the compliments everyone. chuckray

I worked in Dallas for several years and lived in Garland.
The worst we had then was ice storms. I hated trying to drive to work in those.
