Page Margin Adjustment

I am having an issue so what will clear it up???...lol
Here is the rundown. Just for simplicity, to get the idea, this is what I get...

-Brand new page, nothing but default page.
-create a rectangle (like a vertical banner or so)
-I move it to the left edge of the panel about 1/4 inch from the edge.

In the site preview, the rectangle is about 1 inch from the edge. What do I do to get the margin to be exactly as "what you see is what you get"?

Teaser the default behaviour for Web Designer is to center your web page in the browser. Unless you are using a page size exactly the width of your browser window you can expect extra space on the left and right of your web page. Web Designer does not create dynamically expanding pages.
