That will very much increase the data size of your photos and slow your site down, I would not recommend doing that.
What does work is to adjust the contrast setting to -8 which brings the black pixels up a notch towards grey.

i have only done the 3 images that are having this problem, the way i process my images are the way that i want them to be seen so dropping the contrast is not really good for me but thanks for the suggestion

Yes I do. The last woodpecker image is well over double the size and took 6 second to load into the popup on my 8 megabit DSL connection.
PNG is a poor choice for photographs which are almost always JPG in the first place. The only gain for photographs with PNG is the data size.
Life is full of compromises and photographs are never seen on someone else's PC the way you see them, too many variables involved. Even in the print industry, certain compromises must be accepted.
