Illustrating an Increase: Need Your Creative Ideas

I had thought of the egg timer with coins/money/time going down (there's lots of stock images like that), but to me that conveys money/time being expended, not reaped. So that one isn't quite right for what I'm trying to accomplish.

That's an interesting idea, JClements! More along the lines of what I'm thinking of, definitely. I do want to stay away from charts and graphs if possible as those are so boring and humdrum and common. I'm trying to illustrate this idea in a completely new way.

Fuss, you could probably animate the sweep of time on the clock in Xara as well or do a series of stills, import them into PPoint, and do a series of fades. Just a thought.

I found the USA Today graphics/statistics. It was called Snapshots and you can get the book from Amazon. It is only $11 and is a great source of inspiration/ideas.

My meager contribution:

A glass jar/vessel with coins and notes inside - perhaps half full. Inscribed on the glass is a measuring scale (think a measuring jug for cookery) and the scale is inscribed with dates. Older dates are at the bottom, future dates above the level of the money. I think this would indicate money accruing over time.

A ball bearing clock, where the balls are replaced with coins..... so many to choose from... good luck.
